The Opportunity

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Underwriter looking to step into a leadership position and carve out, own, and scale a dedicated, multi-million-dollar manufacturing vertical for an agile Canadian branch of a major global P&C; carrier.

This is a highly visible, strategic mandate. You will have the financial backing and stability of a global powerhouse, combined with the autonomy to put your personal stamp on the business and build a team from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of an established, profitable book of manufacturing business and carve it out into a dedicated, high-growth vertical.
- Lead the national manufacturing underwriting and distribution strategy.
- Build, mentor, and lead a dedicated team of underwriting specialists.
- Leverage your active broker network to expand trading partnerships and drive new business in the manufacturing sector.
- Coordinate with product experts across other lines (Property, GL, E&O;)



to cross-sell and offer a comprehensive market proposition.

Requirements

- Experience: 5+ years of P&C; underwriting experience specifically within the manufacturing sector on the carrier side.
- Leadership (asset): Demonstrated people management, mentoring, and/or portfolio management.
- Network: A solid, active pipeline and established relationships with key brokers nationally, with a heavy emphasis on the Ontario market.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, commercially driven, and straightforward. We need a leader who isn't afraid to push back on strategy to achieve growth.
