The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial professional with experience within the transportation industry. This individual will be an ambitious self-starter who has the ability to work independently and provide continuous improvement to the accounting department operations.In order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate will need:A Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation or equivalent accreditation.Experience in overseeing and participating in all aspects of financial management.A strong mastery of financial reporting and analysisA solid understanding of internal controls and GAAP and investment capital analysis.Excellent technical, organization, management and communication skillsThe main tasks associated with this position include:Managing, developing and maintaining financial records for a group of related companies,



including US based companiesUtilizing financial/accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced excel reportingManaging and monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements for privately held enterprises.Preparing budgets, Cash flow Projections, Bank Reports, Journal Entries, Monthly Financial Reporting Package and Year End Working PapersManaging and overseeing the accounting team workflowReviewing AP & AR aging, monitoring expenditures, costs and P&L.Reviewing, analyzing, and reporting on the company's financial data and performance.Prepare T4's, T4 summaries, 1099's, WSIB, EHT, HST annual reconciliationsSupporting/ Coordinating month-end and year-end close processReviewing and approving costing reportsLiaising with external auditors, lenders and legal counselReporting directly to the Vice President of Administration.QualificationsExperience:At least 5 years of financial accounting experience in a management position.Experience working in a fast paced environment and managing financial implications of very rapid growthExperience within the transportation industryEducation:Education: A university degree in finance/accounting is required in addition to a current valid CPA designationSkills:Ability to work both independently and within a team.Extremely organized and detail oriented.Must possess a strong work ethic.Self-Motivated, ambitious and results driven. #J-18808-Ljbffr
