ServiceNow Release & Environment ManagerWe are Systematix and we are currently looking for a ServiceNow Release & Environment Manager for our life sciences client.ABOUT THE PROJECTOur client is a global life sciences organization undertaking a large-scale ServiceNow transformation across multiple regions and operating companies. As part of a global initiative to modernize and standardize IT Service Management (ITSM), the organization is implementing ServiceNow as its enterprise platform for core ITSM capabilities while expanding its IT Operations Management (ITOM) footprint.The ServiceNow Release & Environment Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, governance, and successful deployment of ServiceNow solutions across multiple enterprise environments. Working closely with platform teams, developers, infrastructure teams, security, project leadership, and business stakeholders, you will oversee release planning, environment strategy, instance management, and deployment governance to ensure solutions are delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with enterprise standards.ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIESAs the ServiceNow Release & Environment Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing all ServiceNow releases while ensuring enterprise environments remain stable, secure, and available throughout the project lifecycle. You will serve as the central point of coordination for release planning, environment management, deployment readiness, and cross-functional collaboration across globally distributed delivery teams.Responsibilities include:Own the end-to-end release management process across development, test, UAT, pre-production, and production ServiceNow environmentsDefine release schedules, governance checkpoints, deployment windows, release calendars, and implementation timelines aligned with business prioritiesCoordinate complex releases involving multiple development, infrastructure, platform, security, and business teams while managing cross-project dependenciesEnsure all releases comply with enterprise Change Management processes, governance standards, and required technical and business approvalsLead release planning sessions, release readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, deployment activities,
and post-implementation reviewsValidate release scope, implementation plans, rollback procedures, recovery plans, testing completion, and production readiness before deploymentIdentify, assess, and mitigate release risks while proactively managing release conflicts, sequencing issues, and environment constraintsDevelop and maintain the enterprise ServiceNow environment and instance management strategy supporting development, testing, training UAT, pre-production, and production environmentsCoordinate environment provisioning, refreshes, cloning, patching, lifecycle management, and environment availability to support project deliveryEnsure consistency, stability, configuration alignment, and governance across all ServiceNow instancesWork closely with platform administration and security teams to manage environment access, roles, permissions, and compliance requirementsMaintain documentation covering environment configurations, integrations, plugins, versions, dependencies, refresh schedules, and deployment historyMonitor release and environment performance, producing dashboards, operational metrics, and management reporting to support continuous improvementIdentify opportunities to improve release quality, deployment automation, operational efficiency, and environment management practicesABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS7+ years of experience in Release Management, Environment Management, or Platform Operations within large enterprise IT environmentsProven experience managing enterprise application releases across multiple development, testing, and production environmentsExperience supporting enterprise ServiceNow implementations, including Change Management and Release Management processesStrong understanding of ITIL Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management,
and governance frameworksExperience coordinating complex technical deployments involving multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholdersExperience managing ServiceNow instances, environment strategies, cloning, refreshes, and lifecycle activitiesExperience supporting cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments, including Azure, AWS, or similar platformsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, release automation tools, and DevOps practicesKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform or Ansible is considered an assetStrong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at all levelsExperience working within regulated or highly governed enterprise environmentsITIL Foundation or ITIL 4 certification is preferredProject Management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are considered an assetABOUT THE ROLELocation: Remote (Eastern Time) with flexibility to collaborate across additional time zones as requiredDuration: 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extensionWork hours: Full time, primarily aligned to Eastern Time (ET), with flexibility to support UK/Europe business hours when requiredAI DISCLOSUREWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) or other automated tools to support parts of our recruitment process.
