This role requires advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and collaboration with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical proceduresAssist surgeons and anesthesia providers during complex cardiovascular operationsMonitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in conditionPrepare, maintain, and operate specialized surgical equipment and instrumentsEnsure adherence to AORN standards, infection control,
and hospital safety protocolsDocument patient care accurately in electronic medical recordsEducate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative careCollaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomesRequired QualificationsCurrent RN license (state-specific or compact license)Minimum of 2 year of perioperative nursing experience, preferably in cardiovascular or thoracic surgeryStrong knowledge of cardiovascular operating room practices and protocolsAbility to work effectively in high-stress, rapid-paced surgical environmentsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications (if any)Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Prior experience in Level 1 trauma or tertiary care centersCNOR certificationCertifications (if any)Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) requiredCNOR certification preferredEducationAssociate Degree in Nursing (Required)Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred) #J-18808-Ljbffr
