You Will also organize and implement programs for children rangingfrom infant care up to out-of-school-care.As an Early Childhood Educator, we are lookingfor individuals with a passion for shaping young minds. You will play anintegral role in families lives by providing an enriched experience forchildren.What will you do?Developand implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical,cognitive, emotional and social development of childrenLeadactivities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, playing games,taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities toexpress creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music andphysical activityPlanand maintain an environment that protects the health, security andwell-being of childrenAssessthe abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress orproblems with parents and other staff membersObservechildren for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems andprepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisorGuideand assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing andtoilet habitsEstablishand maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and communityservice providers working with childrenMayplan and organize activities for school-age children in child-careprograms before and after regular school hoursMaysupervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators andearly childhood educator assistantsClassroommaintenance and light cleaning duties requiredMayconduct diaper changes and support with handwashing and hygieneYou will possess the following:Passionfor children that shines through in all you doCommitmentto continuous learningSafetyfirst attitudeAbilityto communicate creatively with strong oral and written skillsUnderstandingthat behaviors are a type of communication, and ability to translate theseto support the children's needsPositivereinforcement and feedback to encourage a child's growth and confidenceOrganizationaland time management skillsSolidknowledge & understanding of the Provincial Child Care RegulationsPlayas a team playerCriticalthinking skills and ability to respond to urgent needsAbilityto lift and carry children and equipment up to 50 poundsAbilityto engage in active play, including bending, kneeling, and sitting on thefloorAbilityto work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditionsRequired qualifications to work at KeplerAcademy:ChildDevelopment Certificate issued in the Province of Alberta, Level 1, 2 or 3ValidStandard Child Care / Level C First Aid certificateVulnerableSector Police Information Check issued within the past 6 monthsPreviousexperience in childcare is considered as an assetKnowledgeof child development principles and best practices in early childhoodeducationStrongcommunication and interpersonal skillsAbilityto work collaboratively with a diverse team of childcare professionalsDo you not meet the minimum requirements?
