Veterinary Specialty Center of Newfoundland & Labrador ("VSCNL") is seeking a Board-Certified Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, to join the enthusiastic team at the only emergency and referral center in the province. VSCNL is located just outside St. John's, Newfoundland and offers emergency care alongside surgical, rehabilitation, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse and challenging caseload as VSCNL is the only specialty center in Newfoundland and Labrador and is an ocean away from the nearest center on mainland Canada. The Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador was originally founded to make sure that no pet owner would have to leave the province to get the proper care their pet needs. We offer chemotherapy, run a canine blood donor program and have the only ICU that is fully staffed 24 hours a day. When it comes to diagnosing and treating the pets of Newfoundland and Labrador, we are there for them every day! We are currently expanding our facility with additional growth for services to be added in the future. You will have access to advanced surgical tools including Storz arthroscopic and laparoscopic equipment, C‐arm and C‐arm compatible OR tables, Harmonic Scalpel, Asculap battery operated orthopedic drills and saws, standard and locking orthopedic implants, and almost anything else you can think of! We also have a comprehensive in‐house laboratory staffed by Registered Medical Laboratory Technologists and the only Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) in the province. Our rehabilitation service is well equipped with a large gym area, underwater treadmill, laser, TENS and therapeutic ultrasound. Diagnostic imaging capabilities are all available with an in‐house 32 slice GE CT and a 1.5 T MRI.
