This role collaborates with the senior operations team to develop and implement a commercial management system that drives performance and minimizes risk to the business.What You'll Do HereChange management, including schedule interpretation and claims administrationImplement an effective system to ensure contractually-required notices are delivered to the client per the project agreement termsAdminister project contracts (project agreement, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, purchase agreements, etc.), ensuring deliverables and timelines are met while minimizing commercial riskLead drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with clients and subcontractors to optimize financial, legal, risk,



and reputational positionsImplement and monitor procurement scheduling and plans; facilitate the tendering process for materials, goods, services and equipment; develop terms and conditions, scope, and specifications; oversee bidding with pre-qualified companies; evaluate bids and provide tender analyses and recommendationsIssue regular reporting and analytics on commercial issues to Executives and Project ManagersEngage with insurance advisors to develop project insurance programs and coveragesConsult with legal advisors as neededManage project close-out, including defect liability period and operations & maintenance considerationsLead and align a team of commercial direct reports with project priorities, ensuring accountability for resultsMaintain a good understanding of finance, accounting and project reportingWhat You Bring To The Team10 years experience with a contractor on major/large-scale projects, ideally tunneling or railMinimum of 5 years commercial management experience on major projects through the project life cycleLegal, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying degree or equivalentExperience with various contract types (Design-Build, Lump Sum, Unit Price,



collaborative delivery)Understanding of construction methodology in a large, complex environmentStrong knowledge of change management, variations, claims identification, narration, and evaluationKnowledge of contract law in the project jurisdiction, with awareness of contractual obligations and financial functions (e.G., cash flow)Experience with tendering, contract administration, budgeting, procurement and subcontract administration, earned value management, and Primavera P6 (preferred)Proven track record with claims management and dispute resolution on major projectsRisk identification and management experienceUnderstanding of insurance program requirements for various project typesExperience with integrated ERP systemsExcellent organizational, communication and writing skillsStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsAbility to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (legal counsel, client, subcontractor, consultants)Pay range: $110,000–$150,000.
