Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.

Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Retirement home.

Tasks :

- Administer medications.
- Conduct specimen collection.
- Ensure infection control.
- Monitor nutritional intake.
- Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects .
- Take vital signs.
- Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
- Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team.
- Train or assist in the training of other workers.
- Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Provide nursing care.
- Plan patient care.
- Perform other duties related to personal care.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

- Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work.




- CPR Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
