We combine innovation with a solid commitment to sustainability and accountability to create lasting value for our people, partners, and communities.About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to manage payroll for a dynamic mining workforce, including employees working rotational schedules. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all company policies and employment standards. The successful candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support payroll administration in a fast‐paced mining workplace. The Payroll Coordinator reports to the Finance & Supply Chain Manager based in our Sudbury office and works Monday to Friday.ResponsibilitiesOwn and administer the bi‐weekly payroll function for Côté Gold, including earnings, deductions, bonuses, and payroll input for hourly employees.Review payroll registers for accuracy and reasonableness prior to sign‐off; prepare payroll journalentries for each pay run.Maintain accurate employee data in payroll and timekeeping systems, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.Ensure all employee hours are accurately tracked, approved, and processed in compliance with company policies and legislation.Apply federal and provincial payroll, tax, and WSIB requirements, including monthly, quarterly, and year‐end remittances and reporting.Coordinate benefit deductions, vacation, sick leave, overtime, and other payroll adjustments accurately and on time.Support audits, reconciliations,
and year‐end activities; develop and apply controls to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, liaising with employees, managers, government agencies, and vendors as required.QualificationsKey Skills & KnowledgeCollege Diploma in Administration or a related field.Canadian Payroll Certification.Relevant ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of wage and payroll experience.Experience in an industrial setting with various shift rotations.Knowledge of UKG and Nethris is preferred.Skills & Strengths We ValueStrong payroll and legislative knowledge, including Ontario Employment Standards, statutory deductions, and employee benefits administration.High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to process large volumes of payroll transactions error‐free.Effective time management and organizational skills, enabling management of multiple priorities and strict payroll deadlines.Professional communication and confidentiality, with the ability to handle sensitive information and interact effectively with employees at all levels.What We OfferComprehensive health coverage – extended health, dental, and insurance benefits.Flexible spending power – Health & Personal Spending Accounts.Employee & Family Assistance Program.Registered Pension Plan with company match and TFSA & RRSP options.Employee Share Purchase Plan with company match.Job DetailsSalary Range: $89,000 – $133,500 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
