Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools is searching for a District Principal to lead Indigenous learning initiatives. Drive change through justice and equity-focused practices in collaboration with education leaders.In this critical role, you will work with the Indigenous Education Council to develop strategies that foster student wellness and success for Indigenous learners. Your leadership will be essential in creating a culture of collaboration and addressing the inter-generational impact of colonization.



You will also oversee the implementation of district-level education practices and support Indigenous staff.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with principals and teachers to support learning agendasEnhance educational experiences through evidence-based practicesOversee Indigenous budget and ensure audit compliancePartner with communities to create Local Education AgreementsEngage with IEC to advance Indigenous learning strategiesRequirements:Master's degree in Curriculum, Leadership, or a related fieldValid BC teaching certificateThree or more years in district leadershipKnowledge of culturally responsive and trauma-informed practicesCommitment to equity and Reconciliation effortsUtilize your managerial courage and empathy to enable success in Indigenous education.#J-18808-Ljbffr
