Reporting to the Manager, Facilities – Lloydminster Thermal, this Calgary-based role is responsible for supporting the design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup of SAGD facilities and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and engineering contractors to safely deliver capital projects from concept through execution while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and engineering standards.Essential FunctionsDesign and construction of SAGD Thermal FacilitiesDesign and construction of various types of pipelinesDevelopment of cost estimates, cost forecasts and schedulesPreparation of weekly, monthly reports and various project presentationsFacilitation of various technical meetings (technical reviews, information sharing,



and planning)Preparation of Design Basis Memorandums, Project Execution Plans, and other technical documentsReview construction execution and safety plansMonitor and enforce the corporate Health, Safety, Security, and Setting (HSSE) requirementsReview pipeline survey plans for constructabilityParticipate in model reviews and HAZOPsEnsure compliance of engineering deliverables with project specifications and all applicable codes, standards, and industry best practicesEnsure engineering contractors prepare all construction documents, and review for completeness and accuracyFacilitate and participate in shop fabrication walkdowns and pre-commissioningReview shop inspection and field construction reports, and liaise with the engineering contractor for timely resolution of requests for information, non-conformances, and preventative and corrective actionsFacilitate and participate in system walkdowns and handoverAssist in the development and execution, inclusive of monitoring and surveillance, of pre-commissioning and commissioning activitiesProvide technical support for commissioning and operationsQualificationsMinimum of 7 years' experience in a Project Engineer or related role in the Oil and Gas industryProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.)



designation required or eligible for registration; PMP certification is considered an assetStrong knowledge of Saskatchewan regulatory requirements related to SAGD and water infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience designing and constructing SAGD facilities and associated infrastructure, including steel and HDPE pipeline systemsExperience with material procurement, contractor management, and construction contract executionKnowledge of brownfield facility construction and modification projectsProven ability to manage engineering consultants and construction contractors while delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budgetGreat things aren't done by one person, they're done by a team.
