Brunel is currently seeking an experienced Underground Operations Superintendent to join a leading global mining organization at Voisey's Bay, Labrador. This is a permanent, site-based leadership prospect within a world-class underground operation supporting the production of critical minerals including nickel, copper, and cobalt.This role will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of underground mining activities, supporting both production ramp-up and steady‐state operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across the underground mining function.ResponsibilitiesOversee the safe day‐to‐day management of underground mining operationsDeliver against weekly and monthly production and maintenance plansAchieve or exceed production targets, quality metrics, and cost objectivesMaximize economic resource recovery and operational efficiencyMonitor and analyze performance across safety, production, cost, quality, and resource utilizationSupport and participate in Asset Integrity reviews, identifying risks and implementing improvement actionsContribute to annual and 5-year capital planning, including execution supportLead workforce planning, development,
and succession planning initiativesProvide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to the operations teamDrive the implementation of new systems, processes, and continuous improvement initiativesRequirementsPost‐secondary education in Mining Engineering or a related disciplineProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registrationMinimum 8+ years of progressive experience in underground mining operationsDemonstrated experience in underground mine development and production, including cut & fill and bulk mining methodsProven experience in senior leadership roles within mining operationsStrong knowledge of underground mining practices, including drilling & blasting, ventilation, backfill, and mine designSolid understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practicesExperience with production planning, scheduling, and performance trackingFamiliarity with SAP and Microsoft Office toolsExperience working in a unionised environmentStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to lead teams, facilitate discussions, and drive performance outcomes #J-18808-Ljbffr
