High School Math Teacher/Tutor

Motivated by mathematics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed in math?

Oxford Learning Kitsilano seeks a part‑time teacher‑tutor for our learning centre. The position is ideal for those who love working with students, enjoy numbers, and are passionate about helping others build math skills.

All lessons are pre‑planned; no requirement to lesson‑plan before class. Tutors receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

• Teach during after‑school and evening hours (3:30 pm–7:00 pm), and some Saturdays (10:00 am–3:00 pm). Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Reliability is a must.

• In‑person role; must be able to commute to the Kitsilano location. Relocation packages not available.

• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.

Experience





- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Robust math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at different levels.
- Use Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
