Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.Location: Royal Hospital for Women, RandwickAbout This RoleMOCS is a program from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the UNSW research team have received funding for a project, "Quantifying fetal hypoxia using placental perfusion to make childbirth safer". The team, across Medicine and Engineering, aim to develop a fetal monitoring system that could transform labour and delivery. For this Year 1 project, a study will be conducted of women, to gain information about placental perfusion during contractions.This position will support the recruitment of women participating in ultrasound research studies and perform high-quality fetal ultrasound examinations.



Offline computing techniques will be applied by the team to volumes of ultrasound data acquired using the E10; these techniques include a tool to accurately measure fetal organ perfusion.Key Skills And Experience RequiredCurrent registration as a sonographer or medical practitioner able to undertake ultrasound in Australia and/or relevant work experience.Postgraduate experience in sonography during pregnancy.Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to work both independently and constructively in a multi-disciplinary team.Experience searching medical literature, devising novel research questions and initiating independent original research projects.Pre-Employment ChecksAs part of our recruitment process candidates may be required to undergo pre-employment screening, which may include reference checks, qualification verification, right-to-work verification, and criminal history screening where relevant to the role.
