The North Island Hospital Campbell River & District Campus is a current hospital with 95 beds and serves a referral population of 60,000. Surgical services include fellowship trained orthopedics (joint revision, arthroscopy & spine), General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Obs/Gyn, Urology, Dental, and Sedation Service for Endoscopy. Anesthesia is covered 24/7, with some surgical call services shared with neighboring centers in Comox and Courtenay. After hours work can also involve ICU and ER for trauma or acute airway management.
