Position SummaryAn opportunity for an Addiction Medicine Physician at Ravensview, part of Homewood Health, the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada. This position is within our specialized treatment program delivering evidence-based treatments and superior treatment outcomes.Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and secure environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms, welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals.What You'll Be DoingClinically responsible for assigned patients including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, monitoring, referral, daily care, and discharge.Clinical care includes diagnosis and management of substance use disorders, medication management, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team for return to work planning and psychotherapeutic interventionsProvide ongoing supervision and management of clinical/patient care including individual assessments with the patient to ensure ongoing standards of patient care are metCollaborate with other physicians, nurses and allied health professionals in providing optimal patient care within an interdisciplinary teamComplete documentation including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, weekly progress notes, a comprehensive discharge summary and if applicable third-party reports,



of the highest quality to ensure the medical record is meaningful and useful and a treatment plan can be established by the teamUtilize electronic medical platforms such as Caseworks and BDM (training provided)Provide clinical guidance to the program and to the admitting department for appropriate and timely referrals and admissionsEnsure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintainedSupport colleagues with patient coverage during physician absencesComplete and submit MSP billings in a timely mannerLiaison with third party referrers as needed for continuity of care (VAC, provincial workers compensation boards, employers)What We Are Looking ForDegree in Medicine and a license, in good standing, to practice medicine in BCRegistration with CFPC and CPSBCCertification or fellowship in Addiction Medicine, or equivalent experience is preferredExperience with diagnosis and management of comorbid mental health and substance use disorders is helpfulAdept at creating an environment that supports team spirit and collaboration across the organizationFaculty appointment preferred – experience in working with medical students and residentsInspire others to be accountable through action, decisions and/or communicationStrong ability to create exceptional relationships with clients, patients, customers, and colleaguesStrong ability to negotiate and influence with proven critical thinking, analysis and complex problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly developed organizational and time-management skillsDemonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospitalWorking knowledge of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the principles of trauma-informed care are welcomed assetsAs part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, and as required by BC Health Authorities,

Pay rates are tailored to reflect differences in operating environments and job requirements. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function, organizational tenure, experience, qualifications or premium skills, external competitiveness, internal comparability, geography and work performance.
