Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site, and together we provide outstanding, integrated care to support people in living their healthiest lives.OVERVIEWThe Director, Acute and Critical Care provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care that aligns with Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare's mission, values, and strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with physicians, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams, the Director oversees program planning, quality improvement, operational and financial performance, and workforce development while fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient care across the organization.ROLEProvide operational and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across a 24/7 healthcare environmentBuild strong collaborative relationships with physicians, leaders, staff, and community partners to support seamless care across the continuumLead the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical standards, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals and best practicesOversee departmental operations, including budgeting, resource planning, capital equipment planning, and financial stewardshipMonitor quality, safety, utilization, and performance indicators, implementing improvement strategies and supporting Accreditation Canada readinessFoster a culture of safety by identifying operational risks,
leading mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, skilled, and accreditation standardsProvide leadership in workforce planning, recruitment, retention, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and professional development of leaders and staffPromote effective communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary teams, patients, families, and community stakeholders to enhance the patient experienceChampion MAHC's mission, vision, and values by recognizing staff achievements, supporting organizational initiatives, and serving as an ambassador within the healthcare communityLead and participate in organization-wide projects and initiatives across multiple sites, with regular presence in patient care areas and travel between hospital locations as requiredREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONSBachelors degree in Health Administration, or related field requiredMasters Degree in a related discipline is desiredRegistered Nurse in good standing with their relevant CollegeMinimum of 5 years of progressive related clinical experience in a medium-sized hospital preferredMinimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a unionized environmentADDITIONAL PERKS AT MAHCCompetitive Extended Health, Dental,
