What you'll do
- Design and develop high-performance software applications to support quantitative trading strategies, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with quantitative analysts to translate complex mathematical models into robust software implementations.
- Optimize existing trading systems and algorithms to enhance performance and reduce latency, ensuring timely execution of trades.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software components to maintain high quality and reliability in production environments.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, ensuring clarity and ease of use for team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues,
implementing solutions to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our software solutions and trading strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and infrastructure engineers, to ensure seamless integration of software components.
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their technical skills and advance their careers.
- Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks that enhance the productivity of the quantitative development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on quantitative finance or trading systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with a strong understanding of software design principles.
- Experience with quantitative analysis and familiarity with statistical modeling techniques.
- Solid understanding of financial markets and trading concepts,
with the ability to apply this knowledge to software development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure, particularly in deploying and managing applications.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in quantitative finance.
- Knowledge of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL, and experience with data management practices.
- Previous experience in a high-frequency trading environment or with algorithmic trading systems.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
