Role OverviewThe Assistant General Manager is a key business leader within a luxury retail environment, responsible for driving commercial performance, elevating the client experience, and leading a high-performing sales management team to achieve operational and strategic business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with DVP/GM in making key decisions that directly impact the achievement of top-line sales and EBIT targets for the storeAchieve top-line sales and EBIT targets for the storeDeliver all payroll, capital and expense plans within budgetDrive productivity by ensuring that retail operating processes and policies are effectively implemented with adequate control and monitoringRecruit, select, hire and on-board the best talentLead, motivate, and retain a high-performing sales management teamCommunicate standards, parameters and performance goals to employees and provide coaching to behaviours that help achieve successPersonally and through the store leadership team recognize and reward extraordinary performance; give feedback and develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employeesModel leadership behaviours that promote a culture of open communication, employee development and trustDevelop a transparent talent and succession plan for the store, ensuring the retention of key talentDirect the management of payroll and expense budgets for selling divisionsAchieve store customer service targets and resolve sensitive or highly complex customer issuesLead sales management team to develop,
maintain and grow active client bases within their areasIncrease wallet share of high value customers through the consistent delivery of extraordinary personalized serviceDevelop a network of key industry contacts within the retail and luxury community and have a sound understanding of industry trends and practicesDirect the successful implementation of customer relationship and Loyalty management programmingPartner in and influence the development of store seasonal plansPartner with the DVP/GM in the creation of the store's annual strategic plan focusing on customer and associate development strategies and actionsAchieve Asset Prevention targetsCollaborate with Operations role to drive logistics and smooth operation of back-of-house functions including Cash Office, Alterations Workrooms, Maintenance and Shipping /ReceivingServe as MIC (manager in charge) of the store as requiredComply with all Health & Safety policies and requirementsEnsure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measuresIdeal CandidatePost-Secondary degree or certificate in Business or Retail managementPrevious retail experience, preferably within a luxury environment5-8 years management experience in a similar size business with accountability for managing ManagersWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook,
