Vice President – Packaged Gases (Mississauga, ON, Canada | req31944)

The VP, Packaged Gases leads the end-to-end performance of a large, complex packaged gases business, with full accountability for safety, commercial execution, operations, distribution, production, customer experience, and financial results. This role owns the strategic direction and operating performance of an approximately US$500M business, driving sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, margin improvement, and operating profit delivery while ensuring alignment with Linde’s safety, compliance, and values-based culture. The VP establishes and executes the growth roadmap for the business, including pricing, volume, retention, product and market expansion, and potential M&A; opportunities. The role integrates sales, retail, operations, logistics, production, and support functions to deliver customer value, optimize service reliability, and improve productivity across regional fill plants and distribution hubs. A key priority is business modernization, from automation, digitalization and process optimization, to practical adoption of AI to improve decision-making, efficiency, and scalability.

Responsibilities

- Provide visible safety leadership across regional fill plants and distribution hubs, championing a strong culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Full accountability for business performance, including P&L; ownership, with a focus on driving revenue growth, expanding margins, and delivering strong financial results.
- Oversee the entire commercial and operational lifecycle—from sales, pricing, and production to distribution, customer retention, and overall business execution.
- Lead strategies that accelerate volume growth, improve market share, and strengthen the competitive position of the business.
- Develop and execute a long‑term growth roadmap, identifying opportunities for market expansion, new products, and strategic business investments.




- Evaluate and drive mergers and acquisitions, supporting the organization’s growth objectives and market presence.
- Drive business modernization initiatives, leveraging automation, digital solutions, and emerging technologies, including AI, to improve performance and efficiency.
- Build and develop the next generation of leadership talent, strengthening organizational capability and succession planning across the region.
- Foster a high‑performing, engaged culture by coaching leaders, developing talent, and creating an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support a large and diverse workforce while ensuring alignment with broader business goals and growth ambitions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced business degree considered a strong asset.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial, operations, or general management roles, including responsibility for complex, multi‑site operations.
- Strong safety and compliance mindset with experience leading teams in highly regulated and operationally complex environments.
- Proven track record of P&L; ownership, successfully driving revenue growth, margin expansion, profitability, and disciplined resource management.
- Deep understanding of packaged and industrial gases, with experience in production, distribution, logistics, sales, pricing, and customer‑focused operations.
- Comfortable developing strategy, translating business priorities into actionable plans, establishing KPIs, and driving execution across multiple functions.
- Proven people leadership,



experience building high‑performing teams, developing future leaders, strengthening organizational capability, and driving employee engagement.
- Robust executive‑level communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, customers, and key stakeholders.
- Experience leading business transformation initiatives—including continuous improvement, digitalization, automation, and AI adoption—important for supporting growth and innovation.
- Flexibility to travel as needed to support operations, customer relationships, and leadership visibility across the business.
