Located in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern, British Columbia, Trail offers outdoor adventure at your fingertips.Role OverviewThe Project Director, Growth Projects is accountable for leading the delivery of a portfolio of capital projects and feasibility studies valued between $750M to $1B, and consisting of up to 10 separate projects, in support of Teck, Trail Operations Ltd. growth. This portfolio will be executed as a multi-year program (2027–2032) and represents a critical investment in advancing next-generation processing capabilities within one of the world's most complex integrated metallurgical facilities.Reporting functionally to the Manager, Asset Management, the Project Director is a key member of the Owner's team, with accountability to a Project Steering Committee comprised of Trail Operations Senior Managers and the General Manager. The role ensures robust alignment between project execution, operational priorities, and strategic objectives. This is a site-based leadership role requiring close integration with ongoing operations and hands‐on engagement through all phases of project development and delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresEnsure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirementsProvide senior leadership for the Growth portfolio across its full lifecycle (2027–2032)Act as a core member of the Owner's team, ensuring projects are aligned with site and corporate strategyLead the planning and execution of a phased portfolio of capital projects and studiesDeliver projects across all phases including PFS/FS, detailed design,



execution, commissioning, and handoverEnsure delivery against safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, and value objectives within a structured governance frameworkLead brownfield construction and execution strategies within an active metallurgical processing environmentManage complex tie‐ins, shutdowns, and operational interfaces, minimizing disruption to productionDirect EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants, and suppliers across the portfolioEnsure seamless integration between project delivery and site operations, including operational readiness, commissioning, and handover planningBuild strong relationships with Trail Operations leadership, corporate teams, and external partners while communicating project priorities, risks, and performanceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience15+ years' experience in capital project delivery within mining or heavy industrial environmentsDemonstrated leadership and construction of large-scale capital portfolios ($500M–$1B+)Extensive brownfield execution experience in active operating facilitiesStrong background in smelters, refineries, mills, or complex metallurgical processing operationsProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants to deliver complex projectsStrong understanding of project governance, stage‐gate processes, and capital project delivery frameworksExperience with commercial and contractual management for major capital projectsAnnual Performance BonusProfit Share PlanHealth Spending AccountPersonal Spending AccountExtended Health CareDental and Vision CareLife Insurance and Disability CoveragePaid Sick Leave, Vacation and HolidaysVirtual Telemedicine and additional support for overall well-beingEmployer and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Pay Range: CAD $164,000 - $202,000 per yearThe actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
