Job DescriptionDietary Aide –Tall PinesHealth Services – Long Term Care1 Regular Part Time opportunity– 28 hours biweeklyShifts: 3:30 -7:30pm including alternate weekends and holidaysWeek 1: Thursday, Monday, Tuesday, WednesdayWeek 2: Saturday, Sunday, MondayCompensation: $27.52 -$29.20 per hour (as per collective agreement) CUPE LOCAL #966Work Mode: OnsiteLocation: Tall Pines LTC - 1001 Peter Robertson Blvd, Brampton ON L6R2Y3The Long Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Philosophy of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes. Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.We are looking for candidates who are available to work a variety shifts along with every other weekend and holidays.Ifyou enjoy Seniors, have an approved Food Service Worker Certificate, are willing to complete the Food Safety Certification coursewe would love to have you come join our caring and compassionate team!What you will do in this role:Prepare food and beverages as per food production schedule and posted menu. May cook simple dishes (including breakfast), pan, tend and remove items from the stove, microwave, retherm cart etcMaintain the kitchen, dining rooms and serveries in a clean and orderly manner which includes cleaning assigned areas on a daily and weekly basis, in addition to the cleaning of equipmentWash, scour and sanitize pots, pans and utensilsPortion and serve meals in the dining rooms and prepare trays for distribution to other areas according to the Dietary CensusProvide assistance to the residents in the dining room as necessaryWork with the team to enhance the quality of life for residentsand promote a pleasurable dining experienceMay set up dining room tables just prior to next meal and complete clean-up and warewashing duties after mealsAssist with dining room decorations for special and seasonal theme daysMay update dietary records as requiredObtain food and supplies and assist in the receiving, distributing, checking and storing of suppliesSet up and deliver menu items and equipment to designated areasAccept and follow through on directions from the Cook in the performance of job duties in the absence of the Dietary Services SupervisorMaintain good relationships with the residents, staff, volunteers and visitorsAttend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, workshops, etc.



as directed by the Dietary Services SupervisorAssist in the orientation of new dietary staffParticipate in relevant aspects of the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program to evaluate and improve client servicesParticipate in committees as requiredReport health and safety hazards, actively participate in eliminating causes of accidents, and perform emergency occupational health and safety measures as required (WHIMS, Infection Control, Fire)Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the Centre's manualsWhat the Role Requires:High School diplomaCertification under the Food Service Worker Certificate program at a college of applied arts and technology or a Food Service Worker Program provided by a private career college.Must have a valid Food Safety Certification course (Food Handlers Training) or be willing to complete the Food Safety Certification program within 30 days within hire.
