STM Associates has been retained by a publicly traded mining company to look for a Director of Health & Safety who will lead enterprise-wide health and safety strategy across multiple operating sites in North America.

About the role:

Set, lead, and continuously improve the corporate health and safety strategy.

Provide governance, expert advisory support, and practical operational guidance across multiple sites.

Partner with executive, corporate, and site leadership teams to strengthen risk management and safety culture.

Support underground mining safety programs, critical risk management, emergency preparedness, contractor safety, audits, and incident investigation processes.

Travel regularly to mine sites and engage directly with operational teams, including time spent underground.

Ideal background:

12-15 years of progressive health and safety experience in mining.

Senior leadership, corporate oversight,



or multi-site health and safety experience.

Solid underground mining and critical risk management expertise.

Experience developing and improving safety management systems for underground mining and processing operations.

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mining Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.

Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, CIH, or equivalent is preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates preferred.
