The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedulesPick up and drop off students at assigned stopsConduct pre‐ and post‐trip vehicle inspectionsEnsure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulationsMaintain order and discipline on the busAssist students with boarding and exiting when requiredReport any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptlyKeep accurate records of routes, incidents,



and inspectionsCommunicate professionally with students, parents, and school staffQualifications & RequirementsValid driver's license with "S" endorsementAcceptable 10‐year driving abstractFirst Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain onePrevious driving or school transportation experience is an assetStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situationsBasic computer and technology skills, including proficiency with email, mobile apps, and electronic reporting or scheduling systemsMust have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector CheckWorking ConditionsSplit shifts (morning and afternoon routes)Driving in various weather conditionsInteraction with children of diverse ages and needsCompensation & BenefitsSalary and advantages will be in accordance with the collective agreement of CUPE Local 4802.
