At HDR, our employee-owners collaborate to create a welcoming environment and drive impactful transportation solutions that shape communities.As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will lead technical efforts on design projects in Alberta and British Columbia, ensuring quality and innovation across highway, freeway, and transit initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesServe in the lead technical role on design projects with a focus on work in Alberta and British ColumbiaPerform quality assurance checks on major highway and freeway transportation projects.Serve as a technical resource with recognized authority in the area of highways and roadways design that resolves problems of greater scope and complexityAssume some project management duties and client development activities as neededProvide support to other professionals and technicians as neededCoordinate designs with the rest of the multidisciplinary team including structural, traffic, pavement, environmental, stormwater management, electrical, etc.Support the development of budgets, schedules, and work plans for various transit, highways, and roadways clients in Western CanadaPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Developer,
AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office applicationsRequired QualificationsA minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering designProfessional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.G., PE or P.Eng)Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teamsExperience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plansMust have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‐owned culture is a mustEEO CommitmentAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
