PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of medium to high voltage electrical facilities. We deliver cost-effective and efficient power system engineering solutions across a diverse range of projects, from preliminary engineering through commissioning and startup.We are looking for a Senior Protection & Control Testing Technician to join our Calgary team on a full-time basis. This is a field based position requiring extended out-of-town shifts. If you thrive on solving complex technical challenges and take pride in precise, detail-oriented work, this role offers continuous growth across all aspects of testing and commissioning.What You'll DoTest and commission MV/HV power system protection and control schemes across the utility, power generation, and oil & gas sectorsPerform secondary relay injection testing on microprocessor relays/IEDs using advanced test sets such as Omicron CMC356 and CMC500Conduct SCADA points testing and verificationInterpret technical drawings and troubleshoot/resolve issues in the fieldPrepare and submit detailed commissioning reportsContribute to the development of commissioning startup procedures and work instructionsUphold all safety practices in accordance with corporate, client, and industry standardsCommunicate with clients to address inquiries, discuss issues, and confirm resolutionsWhat You BringBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized instituteMinimum 4 years of experience in protection and controls relay testing within the electrical utilities industryHands‐on experience with advanced relay test sets (e.G., Omicron CMC356, CMC500)Strong communication, interpersonal,
and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office and strong general computer skillsProven analytical, risk assessment, and problem solving abilitiesRequirementsAbility to work extended periods out of townValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMust be legally authorized to work in Canada; VISA sponsorship is notavailableAdditional InformationTypical shifts will range from 8/6, 10/4, and 14/7Working hours are generally from 7am - 5:30pm at 10hrs/dayDaily work hours and shifts are subject to change based on project requirements, applicants must be flexible to accommodate these changes when requiredPhasor Engineering Inc. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package and excellent opportunities for growth and advancement.
