In this position, you will provide leadership, emergency management subject matter expertise, support, guidance, and advice to Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) Duty Officers, PEOC staff, and emergency management stakeholders.About the jobIn this role, you will:monitor and respond to evolving situations inside and outside of Ontario and identify potential or actual threats which may impact public safetycommunicate with PEOC partners and stakeholdersdevelop response plans and create various information products for senior management and elected officialsdraft and issue public alerting messages to broadcasters and via cellular carriersmonitor and analyze social media, news, and situation reports related to actual or potential eventsdetermine the appropriate response and coordinate notifications to appropriate federal departments, provincial ministries, municipalities, First Nations and other agenciesdevelop, conduct and review training for PEOC Duty Officersprovide emergency management advice to stakeholders and partners, based on legislation, plans, policies and proceduresdevelop and present written and verbal reports, briefings, recommendations, and situational awareness productsrepresent the Provincial Emergency Operations Unit or Emergency Management Ontario in internal and external meetings committees, working groups, teams, projects, seminars, and conferencesWhat you bring to the teamMandatory requirementsa valid Ontario class G driver's license (or equivalent) to be able to access sites that may not be accessible by public transitwilling to work irregular and extended hours particularly during emergencies and be on-call on a regular basis, often on short noticeobtain provincial security clearancesPlease note you may be required to:wear a uniform and personal protective equipment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Acttravel within Ontario and occasionally to other provinces, territories and the USAobtain federal security clearances for certain projects or incidentsEmergency management and technical knowledge:You have knowledge of Ontario's operational environment including the province's physical environmental characteristics, natural,
