You will also organize and implement programs for children ranging from infant care up to out-of-school-care.As an Early Childhood Educator, we are looking for individuals with a passion for shaping young minds. You will play an integral role in families lives by providing an enriched experience for children.What will you do?Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of childrenLead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, playing games, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activityPlan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of childrenAssess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff membersObserve children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisorGuide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habitsEstablish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with childrenMay plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hoursMay supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistantsClassroom maintenance and light cleaning duties requiredMay conduct diaper changes and support with handwashing and hygieneYou will possess the following:Passion for children that shines through in all you doCommitment to continuous learningSafety first attitudeAbility to communicate creatively with strong oral and written skillsUnderstanding that behaviors are a type of communication, and ability to translate these to support the children's needsPositive reinforcement and feedback to encourage a child's growth and confidenceOrganizational and time management skillsSolid knowledge & understanding of the Provincial Child Care RegulationsPlay as a team playerCritical thinking skills and ability to respond to urgent needsAbility to lift and carry children and equipment up to 50 poundsAbility to engage in active play, including bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floorAbility to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditionsRequired qualifications to work at Kepler Academy:Child Development Certificate issued in the Province of Alberta, Level 1, 2 or 3Valid Standard Child Care / Level C First Aid certificateVulnerable Sector Police Information Check issued within the past 6 monthsPrevious experience in childcare is considered as an assetKnowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood educationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse team of childcare professionalsDo you not meet the minimum requirements?
