Position SummaryThe OpportunityNorthern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Smithers Primary Care Clinic team. This Relief Full time position offers flexibility and the chance to provide longitudinal primary care to patients of all ages. The NP will attach a patient panel and contribute to a collaborative, culturally safe care environment supported by physicians, other nurse practitioners, primary care assistants, and an interprofessional team.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver longitudinal primary care to a diverse patient population.Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.Collaborate with a supportive team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.Participate in team-based care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.Qualifications & SkillsEligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.Experience in primary care across the lifespan.Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.About the ClinicThe Smithers Primary Care Clinic is an integral part of the regions health system, offering comprehensive primary care services. The NP will be part of a collaborative team that includes physicians, nurses, MOAs, and allied health professionals. Both sites use MOIS EMR and support a patient-centered, culturally respectful approach to care.About the CommunitySmithers is a picturesque town in northwestern British Columbia, nestled in the Bulkley Valley.
