As Industrial painter, you will be responsible for preparing and applying various types of coatings to ship surfaces and components. You will use equipment such as airless or conventional spray pumps and shot blasting machines.
Salary
- Hourly rate $34.64 for the first 1,000 hours, then $38.49.
- Evening premium $2.00/hr.
- Weekend premium $2.50/hr.
- Frigate premium $1.25/hr (for naval vessels).
- Overtime paid at double time.
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 4 days × 10 hours.
- Evening shift: 4 days × 10 hours + $2.00/hr premium.
- Weekend shift: 3 days × 12 hours (paid for 40 hours) + $2.50/hr premium.
Must be available for all shifts. Shift preferences are considered but cannot be guaranteed.

Relocation Bonus
Unionized production and maintenance employees receive a relocation bonus: $2,500 for a single person or couple, $4,000 for a family.
Qualifications
- Diplôme d’études secondaires (DVS) in Industrial Painting.
- High‑school diploma with relevant experience (surface preparation, epoxy mixing, sandblasting).
- DVS in Auto Bodywork.
- Valid CCQ card (1st‑year apprentice or journeyman).
- Successful completion of a security screening process and receipt of the required clearance under the Federal Government’s Contract Security Program (minimum five years residency in Canada, with no interruption of six consecutive months).
