Location: Westmount, Quebec Engagement: Full-time What you'll do

Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive legal and compliance policies that align with Vicpark's strategic objectives. Provide expert legal advice to senior management and various departments, ensuring that all business operations comply with relevant laws and regulations. Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization. Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential legal issues and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary, managing relationships and ensuring that Vicpark receives high-quality legal support. Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.



Develop and deliver training programs for employees on compliance-related topics to enhance awareness and understanding of legal obligations. Manage internal investigations related to compliance breaches, ensuring thorough documentation and appropriate corrective actions are taken. Prepare and present reports to the board of directors and other stakeholders on the status of legal and compliance matters. Engage with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in legal compliance. Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring that all agreements protect Vicpark's interests and comply with legal standards. Support the organization in maintaining a robust corporate governance framework, ensuring transparency and accountability in all operations. Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of 7 years of experience in a legal role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position focused on compliance and regulatory matters. Strong understanding of corporate law, compliance regulations, and risk management practices relevant to the industry. Proven track record of successfully managing legal projects and leading teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills,



capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Fluency in both French and English, with strong writing and presentation abilities in both languages. High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance within the organization. Nice to have

Experience in the real estate or property management sector is a significant advantage. Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, particularly in relation to privacy and information security. Previous involvement in corporate governance initiatives or board-level advisory roles. Membership in a relevant professional association or bar association is a plus. Experience with compliance technology tools and software to streamline processes and reporting. Skills & tools

Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis. Familiarity with compliance management systems and risk assessment frameworks. Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations. Ability to utilize project management software to oversee legal projects and compliance initiatives effectively. Practical notes
