Job DescriptionThe IT Business Analyst's role is to support the Business Applications project leads in the planning, design, develop, and launch efficient business systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The IT Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. and enhancements to existing applicationsConduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing effortsPerform cost‐benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisionsOperations ManagementPrepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization, proposing solutions that are feasible and scalableDevelop and configure reports to improve financial reporting and analysisBI report creation and maintenance, including managing and maintaining Oracle BI, Microsoft PowerBi, and other reporting toolsEnsure compatibility and interoperability of in‐house computing systemsCoordinate and perform in‐depth tests, including end‐user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post‐implementation supportProvide orientation and training to end‐users for all modified and new systemsLearn, design and build reporting using proprietary tools in other third‐party solutionsReview query performance and optimize where requiredAssess and amend any errors in a timely fashionProvide status reports where requiredFollow proper change management processes when performing any changes to solutionsWork with and assist project teams on implementation or upgrades of new and existing business solutionsQualificationsEducationRequired: College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, or management information systems and 3 years related work experience.Work ExperienceRequired: 3+ years' experience in deployment and support of software systems implementations and global environment (cloud,
hosted and on‐premise platforms).Knowledge RequiredExperience with Microsoft PowerBi, Oracle BI Publisher, and OTBI report and data model developmentOracle Fusion Knowledge (technical, ERP, HCM) including basic functional knowledge of related modules (GL, AR, AP, PPM, SCM, Core HR, Talent, Recruitment, Absence, OTL)Knowledge and hands on experience in applications such as Oracle Fusion, Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle EPM, InEight Cloud, InEight Document, and Intelex Safety; applications is beneficial to this roleProven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or productsExtensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs and flow chartsProven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologiesExcellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectivesFlexible and adaptable in learning new technologies and solutionsDemonstrated project management skills; Business Analysis and Project Management Fundamentals training or PMP designation an assetFluent English language skillsPersonal AttributesExcellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem‐solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent listening and interpersonal skillsLogical and efficient.
