The primary purpose is to manage production processes, optimize resources, and lead cross functional teams to meet business objectives. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Bericap's Burlington Plant, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and safety. This position plays a crucial role in budgeting, quality control, equipment maintenance, and workforce management to ensure smooth plant operations.ResponsibilitiesMaintains a safe environment for all Bericap employeesAs part of the food safety team, this position has responsibility for assisting in creating, maintaining and reviewing food safety plans and other pre-requisite programsManages the Production, Maintenance, and Process teamsEnsures that quality standards are established, understood at required levels and incorporated in all manufacturing practicesOperations ManagementOversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality and adherence to schedulesImplement and monitor KPIs for throughput, downtime, and yieldCoordinate cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing targetsEnsures that production objectives are at the lowest cost consistent with quality productionThrough direct reports, oversees execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacityManagement of continuous improvement initiativesCommercialization of signed off new equipment and/or product startupsApproves all plant purchase orders and expense reportsIdentify cost‐saving opportunities in labor, materials, and energyStrategic Planning & ReportingAligning corporate objectives into explicit achievable plant goals, ensuring alignment across safety, quality, cost,



delivery and people objectivesProvide regular reports for senior management on performance metricsEstablishes plant operating budgets on an annual basis and monitors the adherence to themSupport new product launches and capacity expansion projects by assessing operational readinessTrack ROI on investmentsSafety & ComplianceEnforce EHS policies and ensure regulatory complianceLead safety audits and emergency preparedness drillsChampion the See It, Sort It, Report It Continuous Improvement SystemLeadership and Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop plant staff across all departmentsDemonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the local site's management systems, by reviewing issues reported by their employees, attending management reviews, ensuring adequate resources, and promoting continuous improvementFoster a culture of accountability, safety, and innovationConduct yearly performance reviews and identify training needs for senior, supervisor, and Management in the Production, Process, Mold Shop, and Maintenance DepartmentsOtherEnsure all quality, food safety, safety, environmental as well as all other Company policies and procedures are followedEnsure that all quality, food safety, safety, and environmental issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisorEnsure all work is carried out safely and without injury.Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the local site's management systems, by reviewing issues reported by their employees, attending management reviews, ensuring adequate resources, and promoting continuous improvementSkills & AbilitiesAdvanced communication skillsExcellent problem‐solving and organization skillsStrong leadership and team management skillsTechnical product process knowledgeProcess ImprovementSafety and ComplianceCritical thinking skillsStrategic visionEducationUniversity degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferredExperience10+ years progressive management experience with a minimum of 5 years as a production manager in plastics or food manufacturing facilityExperience should include several of the following disciplines: Quality, Materials, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, Development, Maintenance and ManufacturingContinuous Improvement through QOS, 6 SigmaISO/SKF experience an assetReporting StructurePosition reports to the VP/General Manager - Canada #J-18808-Ljbffr
