This position also acts as a food and beverage Server to any guests seated within the bar, lounge or patio.



The Bartender assists with the reservation process, greeting and seating of guests, and clearing and resetting of designated areas. This position is responsible for following both company and facility policies and procedures. The Bartender will promote the Parq Vancouver facility and act as a positive role model and representative of Blau & Associates. The Bartender continually strives for 100% guest satisfaction.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe Bartender is responsible for:Working in collaboration with other Team Members and Departments to ensure the restaurant, lounge, patio or outlet operates in accordance with established operational proceduresProper set-up, maintenance and adherence to scheduled duties, ensuring mise-en-place and par stock is maintained for all service related itemsThe preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using standardized drink recipes and presentation standardsSeating guests, taking/placing orders, preparing speciality items, serving food and beverage items, clearing, cleaning and resetting designated areasPlacing orders through designated POS systems, reviewing final checks and securing paymentMaintaining a composed and professional demeanor while providing exemplary guest serviceBeing aware of menu items, menu and operational changes and communicating the information as appropriateProtecting the organization, guests and co-workers by adhering to applicable food,



liquor safety and workplace standards, operational requirements and statutory compliance regulationsEnsuring that all property, furnishings, equipment and supplies are used according to proper instructions and intended useAll duties as assigned by the General Manager or their designated representativeQUALIFICATIONSThe Bartender must:Have experience as a Bartender in a similar environment including a hotel, restaurant, catering or other fast paced high-volume establishmentHave valid Serving it Right and Foodsafe Level 1 certificates. Certificates in mixology would be considered an assetHave an excellent command of both spoken and written English. Knowledge of a 2nd language would be considered an assetHave a good understanding of beer, wine, liquor, non-alcoholic beverages, common drink recipes, basic food & beverage pairings or accompaniments, different cuisines and food preparation methodsBe able to upsell through detailed product knowledge and effectively handle all guest inquiries including food and beverage suggestions, dietary, food sensitivity or allergy requirementsHave solid problem solving, decision making, customer service, communication and sales skillsAccurately operate POS terminals, debit payment systems, Open Table and other computerized or electronic systemsHave the ability to handle inventory management, financial transactions, float management and proper product use to eliminate waste and spillageHave detailed knowledge of the Vancouver area including Parq Vancouver amenities, services and local attractionsBe able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stoop repeatedlyBe able to frequently lift and carry up to 44 pounds #J-18808-Ljbffr
