Located in the beautiful Thousand Islands Region, we are the perfect place to practice and play.Practice ProfileThe practice setting includes a comprehensive mental health services program, a 22-bed Inpatient Unit, ECT, Outpatient Team, Crisis Team, Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT), community mental health and addictions programming, and coordinated access to regional mental health programs through a Central Intake Team. In addition, there is an opportunity for an academic appointment and participation in post graduate medical education through Queen's University, Faculty of Medicine.Reporting to the Chief of the Psychiatry Department, the Psychiatrist supports stabilization and treatment services for patients with acute mental illness,



which includes:Providing patient-centred care to adults 16 years of age and olderParticipating in medical staff meetings and committees as requiredEnsuring medical practice is compatible with the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic directionParticipating in a culture of continuous quality improvement aligned to standards of excellenceParticipation in a one-in-six weekday / weekend on-call rotationSupporting a combination of adult inpatient, outpatient, and ECT servicesMentoring medical learners and residentsRemunerationA competitive renumeration package is available which includes a guaranteed $800 per day stipend plus fee-for-service, as well as HOCC. An estimated salary for a full-time position is in the range of $370-450K per annum.QualificationsQualified candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent, be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Psychiatry) and have a fully unrestricted license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). In addition, the incumbent should possess great interdisciplinary collaboration skills and be willing to strive for excellence.
