Senior Product Engineer at Faire. Faire operates a global wholesale marketplace connecting independent retailers with unique brands to help local businesses compete. We are seeking engineers to join our Growth team to build features that drive retailer acquisition, activation, and long-term retention. This role involves fullstack, backend, or frontend work across product initiatives that directly impact our marketplace dynamics.

What you'll do

- Lead high-impact projects focused on retailer acquisition, onboarding, and engagement.
- Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and improve key business metrics.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, and Marketing to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaign optimization and marketing technology.
- Analyze customer behavior data to guide future product investments and system improvements.
- Develop scalable product experiences and maintain high standards for system reliability.
- Influence the long-term roadmap and technical strategy for the Growth team.

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.




- Proficiency in building backend systems or modern frontend applications.
- Proven ability to ship customer-facing products that drive measurable outcomes.
- Solid problem-solving skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Interest in data-informed decision making and experimentation.

Nice to have

- Experience in growth, experimentation, marketplace, or consumer-facing product environments.
- Background in designing and analyzing A/B tests.
- Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation platforms.
- Experience with marketing technology or paid spend optimization.
- History of working on products at significant scale.

Skills & tools

- Frontend: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, modern UI frameworks.
- Backend: Kotlin, Java, Guice, Jersey, Hibernate.
- Datastores: MySQL, CockroachDB.
- Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), Docker.
- APIs: HTTP, REST, JSON, Protocol Buffers.
- Growth: Feature flagging, A/B testing frameworks, traffic ramping tools.

Practical notes

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one flex day). Employees have the flexibility to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year.
