Avena Foods is recruiting a highly-motivated full-time Sanitation Technician. The job location will be Rowatt, SK. This position includes cleaning and sanitizing building structures, mill production equipment and supporting Avenas pest control program. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly tasks must be completed.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare production equipment for cleaning by locking out machineryOperate cleaning equipment (e.G. floor scrubber, vacuum system, blower etc.)Clean the food production facility inside and outside (all seasons)Hand clean production equipment, which may require some disassembling and reassemblingWork with maintenance & millers to ensure internal parts are cleaned and sanitizedConduct pest control inspections,



support corrective actionsEnsure that all processing equipment is cleaned to specification of all food safety guidelines to reduce food safety risksMaintain accurate sanitation documentationWork safely with chemicals and follow chemical usage labels for application and Personal Protective EquipmentKeep work area and office neat and clean and organizedOther duties as requiredPreferred SkillsKnowledge of HACCP principles and prevalent food safety and quality standards is preferred. Food Safe certificate is an asset.
