Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Health & Safety – Maintenance Operations is responsible for establishing and advancing safety standards across operation and maintenance activities within Walmart Canada sites. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating risk by conducting detailed hazard assessments and translating findings into clear, practical safety requirements. By partnering with cross-functional teams, the Senior Manager ensures maintenance work is performed safely, consistently, and in alignment with regulatory and compliance expectations.What You'll Do...ResponsabilitiesLead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide maintenance safety standards and governance frameworksConduct and oversee Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) to identify potential risks and define appropriate controlsTranslate technical safety findings into explicit, actionable, and field-executable safety requirementsPartner cross-functionally with Safety, Compliance, Legal, Facilities, and Operations teams to align on risk mitigation strategiesDrive consistency by identifying gaps between field practices and established standards, and implementing improvementsEnsure safety guidance is audit-ready and aligned with enterprise compliance requirementsSupport training teams by ensuring safety requirements are accurately reflected in materials and communicationsDevelop and monitor metrics and dashboards to track risk trends, adoption, and effectiveness of safety standardsQualificationsCollege diploma or equivalent experience3–7 years of experience in health & safety, maintenance operations, or a related fieldBCRSP or equivalent certificationStrong knowledge of hazard assessment methodologies (e.G., Job Hazard Analysis)Ability to translate technical concepts into practical, operational guidanceExpertise in maintenance safety, risk management, and safety governanceStrong communication and influencing skillsKnowledge of trades and contractor safety requirementsLeadership ExpectationsRespect the IndividualDemonstrates and encourages respect for all; builds a high-performing team; seeks, and embraces differences in people, cultures,
