Nhwelmen Construction is seeking an experiencedHeavy Civil Project Managerto join our team. This position is based out ofthe Kamloops / Thompson area in British Columbia.What we Offer:$130,000 - $170,000 per annum, based on experienceLong term employmentKey Responsibilities:Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay and ensure timely delivery.Prepare and issue project deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.Develop and monitor resource requirements, coordinating with personnel across divisions to optimize efficiency.Provide positive safety and quality leadership throughout the duration of the project.Work closely with the Superintendent to monitor financial aspects of the contract to protect interests of all parties.Monitor construction progress and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.Provide technical guidance to site personnel and proactively resolve project challenges.Review and report on project cost variances, providing feedback to project teams as appropriate.Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices.Maintain working knowledge of HSE regulations and ensure their application on site.Assist in the development and execution of the construction schedule with the Superintendent.Evaluate workmanship and ensure compliance with the company Quality Management program.Manage material orders, confirm receipt, and coordinate equipment returns.Maintain accurate daily reports documenting progress, inspections, and other relevant information.Complete daily online reporting using app-based programs.Identify and solve constructability issues,
applying cutting-edge solutions to project planning.Qualifications:2 years of project management experience in heavy civil constructionDiploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil TechnologyStrong knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling and safety regulationsAbility to take on unique challenges daily, with the responsibility of keeping a project on schedule and in budgetStrong organizational skills and time management skills; able to manage multipleprioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to travel to out-of-town project sites as neededKnowledge of WorkSafeBC Health & Safety legislation and regulationsAbility to complete online orientations and digital training requirements as neededValid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstractProficient with MS Office Suite and Adobe AcrobatLocation: This position will be based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia.
