6-month contract Staff Engineer role with a global enterprise organization working on their AI Powered Engineering teamOnsite work arrangement, with 4 days a week in office.What & WhyAs a result of investment in AI our client is looking to add a Staff Engineer to their AI Powered Engineering team. This role enables engineers across the enterprise to build, operate, and evolve software more effectively through AI-driven tooling and platforms. You'll drive adoption of approved AI-powered engineering tools by partnering with engineering teams, platform owners, and leadership, acting as a trusted advisor on when and how AI fits into workflows. Beyond adoption, you'll evaluate emerging AI tools, collaborate on roadmap strategy with product, security, legal, and architecture stakeholders, and build internal tooling that supports provisioning, de-provisioning, and self-service access. A significant part of this role involves leading a Community of Practice, facilitating office hours and learning sessions, defining metrics to measure developer efficiency and tool impact, and mentoring engineers to elevate AI fluency across the organization.WhoThis client is a well-known Canadian brand with a solid corporate culture and a presence in Vancouver and globally.
They value technological innovation and provide autonomy to their teams.YouYou will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:10+ years of industry experience in Engineering (preferably retail enterprise space), with deep experience as an application or platform engineer working across multiple teams or domains and strong understanding of developer tooling, internal platforms, and engineering workflows.Hands‑on experience integrating or operating AI‑assisted tools in engineering contexts, with ability to evaluate emerging AI capabilities, assess risk/value/readiness, and shape tool strategy in partnership with security, legal, and architecture stakeholders.Proven leadership through influence rather than authority, with experience acting as a technical point of view for enterprise‑wide initiatives, working across organizational boundaries, and driving adoption of tools and platforms across distributed teams.Experience leading communities of practice, enablement programs, or internal office hours, with strong communication skills, ability to define and use metrics to guide technical decisions, and track record measuring outcomes like developer efficiency, quality signals, and reduction in toil.CompensationThis role pays between $90-95 per hour.#J-18808-Ljbffr
