Associate Director, Education at Uja. About the role The Associate Director of Education at Uja plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the educational programs offered by the organization. Lead the development and execution of educational programs that reflect Uja's values and objectives, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of the community. Collaborate with educational staff to create a curriculum that is both engaging and relevant, incorporating best practices and innovative teaching methods. Manage and mentor a team of educators, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and enhance instructional quality. Establish and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and educational institutions to expand Uja's reach and impact. Oversee the evaluation and assessment of educational programs, using data-driven insights to inform improvements and adjustments. Develop and manage the budget for educational initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.



Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops for educators and staff, promoting continuous learning and development within the team. Engage with parents, students, and community members to gather feedback and insights, ensuring that educational offerings are responsive to their needs and expectations. Represent Uja at educational conferences and community events, showcasing the organization's programs and initiatives to a broader audience. Stay informed about current trends and developments in education, integrating new ideas and technologies into Uja's programming. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting the progress and impact of educational initiatives. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking among students and staff. Requirements

A Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational program development and management, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role. Solid understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team,



fostering a positive and productive work environment. Experience in budget management and resource allocation within an educational context. Familiarity with current educational technologies and their application in enhancing learning experiences. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practices and programming. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use it to inform decision-making. Nice to have

Experience working in a non-profit or community-focused organization. Knowledge of the local educational landscape and community needs in North York, Ontario. Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising for educational initiatives. Bilingualism in English and French or another language is an asset. Skills & tools

Proficiency in educational software and learning management systems. Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies for program evaluation. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills for engaging diverse audiences. Practical notes

This position is based in North York, Ontario, and may require occasional travel within the region for community engagement and partnership development. The Associate Director of Education will report directly to the Executive Director and will work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of educational initiatives with organizational goals. Candidates should be prepared to provide references and undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
