The Direct Support Professional provides critical services to the people supported by Karis Disability Services and works to ensure that people belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected. They promote Karis Disability Services' Service Principles—enhancing relationships, promoting citizenship, valuing people’s gifts, recognizing self‑determination, encouraging growth and development, and recognizing the need for holistic supports that consider each person’s intrinsic value. The Direct Support Skilled assists with activities of daily living, promotes life development as outlined in person-centered plans, collaborates with team members, families, advocates, friends, and community partners, completes administrative duties, helps build communities of belonging in accordance with the core values of Karis Disability Services, and demonstrates the highest standards of courtesy, respect, and integrity in dealings with persons supported, other employees, and stakeholders.
