For more information, visit: www.Lakefrontutilities.ComPosition SummaryThe Supervisor, Regulatory Finance & Compliance, plays a key role in supporting regulatory strategy, financial reporting, and compliance within a regulated electricity and water utility environment. Working closely with the Director of Finance, this role contributes to regulatory filings, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring alignment with requirements set by the Ontario Energy Board and other industry bodies.Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Filings & External ReportingLead the preparation, analysis, and submission of regulatory filings and supporting documentation to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), and other regulatory bodiesPrepare clear, well-supported applications, including rate filings, license applications, and regulatory submissionsCoordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, including Reporting and Record Keeping Requirements (RRR) filingsContribute to external consultations, industry proceedings,
and regulatory discussionsRegulatory Accounting & Financial CloseOversee monthly regulatory accounting processes, including analysis of distribution revenue, energy revenue, cost of power, and regulatory balancesPrepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting documentationMonitor and reconcile deferral and variance accounts (DVA) in accordance with regulatory guidanceManage settlements and financial transactions with market operators and counterpartiesFinancial Reporting & AnalysisOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesEnsure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policiesSupport the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packagesSupport the development of multi-year business plans, annual budgets, and periodic forecastsPerform variance analysis and provide insights into key financial and regulatory driversConduct ad hoc financial and regulatory analysis to support decision-makingCompliance & ControlsEnsure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and accounting standardsMaintain ingoing awareness of regulatory changes to ensure continued complianceCoordinate with external auditors and support audit processesAssist with implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory requirementsProcess Improvement & DocumentationReview, assess, and enhance regulatory accounting and billing processes and proceduresMaintain accurate records and documentation to support audits, filings,
