We are currently looking for a Service Planner to join our Fort McKay team. What You'll Do Customer & Project Management Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the repair and rebuild process. Gather customer requirements and establish detailed scopes of work. Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for repairs and maintenance activities. Communicate timelines, project updates, and repair status to customers. Manage service and warranty-related requests from initiation to completion. Resolve customer concerns and identify practical solutions to keep projects on track. Monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Service Planning & Coordination Develop detailed work plans, repair milestones, and resource requirements. Review machine history, warranty information, service records, and technical documentation to support repair planning. Coordinate with service supervisors, technicians, parts teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful execution of work. Participate in pre-job, mid-job, and post-job reviews. Track repair progress and proactively address issues that may impact timelines or performance. Communicate backlog, priorities, and project status to internal and external stakeholders. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying lessons learned and opportunities for enhanced service delivery. Collaboration Work closely with Service, Product Support, Sales, Parts, Warranty, and Administrative teams. Act as the voice of the customer throughout the repair process. Build robust working relationships across Finning's network to support efficient movement of equipment and components. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in equipment service, repair, parts, warranty, maintenance planning, or related industries.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of heavy equipment repair processes. Experience developing estimates, quotations, and service plans. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and business management software. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Caterpillar equipment, engines, and components. Previous experience in mining, heavy equipment, construction, or industrial maintenance environments. Blue Seal Certification considered an asset. Project Management (PMP) training or certification considered an asset. Experience with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management systems.
