The Project Engineer will oversee the development and execution of safety-critical avionics programs, coordinating cross-functional engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements, as well as schedule, cost, and quality objectives, while ensuring compliance with aerospace engineering processes and standards.Location: Mississauga, ONJob Type: Full TimeWorking Arrangement: On-siteResponsibilitiesLead the integrated product development team working on safety-critical avionics systems to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectivesEstablish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedulesCoordinate with Systems, Software, Hardware, and Mechanical Engineering teams to drive design, development, integration, and verification activities throughout the product lifecycleFacilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customersLead the solution definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation and verification, and introduction to productionEnsure that project objectives are communicated to the project team and monitor that all technical project activities are aligned with the project scheduleTrack and report program progress, costs, risks,
and milestonesLead internal and external design reviews and technical coordination meetingsEnsure compliance with Aerospace Engineering ProcessesCoordinate proposal and quotation activities for RFP/RFI submissionResponsible for the Engineering SolutionBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalentMinimum 2 years' experience in Project Management - managing cost, schedule (MS Project), resources, risk management - PMP Certificate is an assetWorking experience of overall engineering disciplines - systems, software, hardware development, certification for the aerospace electronics productWorking knowledge/familiarity with standards, DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160 are an assetTake ownership of deliverables and coordinate with required stakeholders to meet deadlinesTrack timeline to delivery in high fidelity and report progress to program managementExperience with managing engineering changes and non-conformances through established processesExperience with executive communication, ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearlyExcellent leadership and management skillsExcellent customer and supplier management skillsIndividuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things doneCompensation: $120,000- $140,000 CADThe base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications.
