A well-established farm located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Hand with a strong background in horse care and a genuine commitment to animal welfare. Position Summary

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Prince Edward Island. The Farm Hand will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of the farm, providing quality care for livestock, operating and maintaining farm equipment, and assisting with general property maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the animals while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient farm environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide daily care for livestock, with a primary focus on horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, handling, and monitoring their overall health and well-being.
- Clean and maintain barns, stalls, paddocks, pens, and other livestock facilities to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Observe livestock for signs of illness or injury and promptly report concerns to farm management.
- Safely operate, maintain, and perform routine inspections on farm equipment, machinery, and tools, reporting any maintenance or mechanical issues.
- Assist with crop production and other seasonal farming activities as required.




- Perform general farm maintenance, including fencing repairs, yard maintenance, and minor building or equipment repairs.
- Follow all farm health and safety policies and procedures while working efficiently in a variety of weather conditions.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to support daily operations and achieve farm production goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Demonstrated experience working with livestock, particularly horses, including daily care, handling, and monitoring.
- Previous experience working on a farm or within an agricultural environment (required).
- The ability to safely operate and maintain farm equipment, machinery, and hand tools.
- A solid understanding of general farming and agricultural practices.
- Strong work ethic with the physical ability to perform demanding manual labour, including lifting, prolonged standing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, considered a strong asset.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (required).
