The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and GM will have a responsibility for managing Commercial and technical solutions for contract administration and project management, including leading a diversified team of resources and contractors, and continual engagement of a variety of stakeholders.The DGM will report to the DirectorThe position will require extensive travel within Canada, the USA, Asia, and Europe.RequirementsDegree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or adjacent fieldCertification by Transport Canada, First Class Marine Engineer or Electrotechnical OfficerRegistered Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)Minimum 3 years of shipboard engineering experience is requiredPrevious experience as Technical Superintendent or similar role in ship operations/managementHands-on experience with dry docking, shipyard periods, and ship repair projectsDemonstrated experience in budgeting, cost control, and preparation of cost estimatesProven leadership track record managing teams, contractors, and multiple stakeholdersBroad technical expertise, including ship management, conversions, and project managementStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage large, complex projectsEnterprise-level computer platform experience,
including MS Office and MS ProjectResponsibilitiesPlan all technical and commercial aspects of the programs and projectsDevelop technical and commercial solutions supporting the Company service portfolioDeliver all commercial and technical aspects of the project in accordance with the planWork with the Director to agree on the technical resources required, forecast and manage resource costs throughout the projectsMaintain customer engagement and promote customer awareness of Albion Marine Solutions' capabilitiesDevelop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growthConduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)Ensure that all external design work is undertaken by suitably qualified and experienced teams, which are provided with a clearly defined scope culminating in agreed costs and timescalesWork with the Project Managers to monitor and report on the technical team's progress on all required deliverablesEnsure every effort is undertaken to align the design with construction teams, providing them with assistance in delivering the projectLead an installation team, manage contract requirements, and assist the sales team in the preparation of job estimates, proposals, and presentationsStrategic planning and management to improve Client results, retention, and developmentOverall responsibility for on-time delivery of projects, within the scope and on budget, as well as the overall quality of project deliveryOwnership of project financial performance, including accurate/on-time reporting and achieving targets; Cost/revenue forecasting; Billings, receivables and payables management; Accruals; Working capital management.Maintain customer satisfaction at acceptable levels and promptly resolve customer issuesMonitor and proactively manage overall project riskMonitor and manage subcontractors and subcontractor risk #J-18808-Ljbffr
