Medical Director - St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas & St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre in BrantfordWe are seeking a medical leader, who lives the mission of 'Unstoppable Compassion' through their role as an integrated Medical Director of Long-Term Care across two campuses of care. This role would begin in February 2026. Across these two campuses, we have approximately 630 residents.Medical Director Position SummaryThe Medical Director will lead and oversee all resident medical services at St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas and St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre in Brantford. This role involves working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of medical care, support quality improvement initiatives and uphold compliance with the Ministry of Long-Term Care regulations, while supporting the mission, vision and values of St. Josephs Health System.Reports to: Administrator and COOKey ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership in the delivery of resident medical care, overseeing and supporting Attending PhysiciansEnsure weekly, in-person rounds by Attending Physicians are taking place and manage the on-call / vacation coverage to maintain continuous medical care for the residents as outlined in contractsDevelop and communicate medical care standards, protocols and expectations to attending medical staffOffer and facilitate regular physician meetings to communicate on pertinent information to ensure care is being provided in a consistent manner across both campusesLead approved quality improvement projects that focus on medical services and engage in interdisciplinary meetings, promoting resident-centered careSupport ongoing education and training for clinical staff to enhance resident careEnsure annual mandatory education as communicated in the FLTCA regulations are completed by all physicians before year endSupport and lead innovative models of careWork in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, registered nurses,



registered practical nurses and allied health professionalsFoster and maintain positive relationships with all invested and interested parties (staff, volunteers, residents and families)Actively participate in MLTC inspections and accreditation surveys, responding to clinical queries and ensuring regulatory complianceAttend admission and annual care conferences and other relevant resident–focused meetings where appropriateParticipate in various committees such as IPAC, HPAC, CQI and Medication ManagementParticipate as an active member of the Senior Leadership TeamEnsure all medical aspects of the FLTCHA 2021 are met and/or exceededEnsure all attending physicians are entitled to practice and in good standing with the CPSO, and that contracts and site privileges are current.QualificationsMedical practitioner licensed to practice in Ontario and a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)Experience as an Attending Physician in long-term care, with preference given to those with Medical Director experienceCompletion of, or willingness to complete, the Medical Director credentialing course (OLTCC) and active membership with OLTCCStrong understanding of the LTC regulatory standards with experience in quality improvement and interdisciplinary team collaborationExperience with Point Click Care (PCC), Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Resident Assessment Instruments (RAI) is an assetA passion for caring and supporting those most vulnerable in our communities and those who call our campuses homeExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and engage meaningfully with residents, families and the care team.To express interest in the position, please send CV (attention: Linda Dennis) to [email protected] no later than December 19th, 2025.
