This position reports to Director of Engineering and will work in Vancouver, BC. Dometic Marine's headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.Role OverviewAs Electrical Engineering Manager of the Vancouver team, you will be focusing on leading, mentoring and developing Electronic Designers, while directly contributing to new product development and continuous improvement. You will assist with monitoring progress and resources to ensure programs are within budget, schedule, performance specifications and safety criteria. Team members will work alongside electronic, embedded firmware, and mechanical product designers to solve a variety of technical challenges and develop novel technologies that pave roads towards successful product launches.General ResponsibilitiesReview and provide technical direction on design solutions to meet cost and functional targets.Review and approve design validation plans for new products/designs.Represent the design engineering team in multi-function programs including product management, manufacturing, quality, production, and supply chain management for new product launches and continuous product improvements.Identify market opportunities and research solutions; estimate project designtimes and cost estimates.Electrical Design ProcessEnsure best practices and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the electrical engineering team.Set group direction for electronic CAD design (preference for Altium Designer) including library management, schematic and PCB rules,
and style guides.Convey and uphold internal Quality Management System protocols.Program ManagementMonitor status, maintain program commitments, and report on progress.Interface with electronic contract manufacturers to align on schedule, technical challenges, and road mapping.Resource ManagementBuild, mentor, and develop the Vancouver Electrical Engineering team.Conduct performance evaluations and recommend individual development plans.Maintain existing equipment and create business cases to procure equipment for the electronic lab.Support other Dometic Marine facilities in electronic design and test practices as required.Ensure employee compliance with company ethics policies and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Complete additional job duties and assignments up to 15% of the time.What We OfferMedical/Dental/Vision InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Disability insurance (STD/LTD)Retirement Programs (RSP and Company Pension Plan)Paid VacationStatutory HolidaysFree on-site parkingTuition and Professional Designation dues assistanceEmployee discounts on our productsCompany eventsOpportunities to make an impactSkills & RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronic, Computer Science, Mechanical or related engineering discipline is required.5+ years of industry or relevant electronic design experience.3+ years in a people management or team leadership role with success leading technical professionals.Consumer electronic product design and new product development experience, ideally related to automotive and/or safety critical systems.Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder expectations, coordinating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced marine manufacturing environment.Lead and align diverse stakeholders to deliver projects on time and to specification,
