National Director of Business DevelopmentLocation: Winnipeg, MB. Role: Full‐time hybrid, reporting to the Vice President, National Indigenous Solutions.Job OverviewLead the growth of the National Practice and strengthen our presence nationally, driving strategic partnerships, sales and growth opportunities within the Indigenous and broader markets.ResponsibilitiesOriginate and develop pipelinesOriginate and uncover new strategic partnerships, client opportunities, and growth possibilitiesComplete and/or facilitate in-depth RFPs for private and/or public sector opportunitiesIdentify sales opportunities by prospecting, networking, and mentoring consultants to build a sales pipelineLocate, consider, and engage with sources of lead generation for the sales teamBe the lead point of contact for third‐party broker relationshipsDevelop standardized training modules supporting business developmentSales Leadership, Strategy and Execution:Locate, interview, and hire sales team membersOnboard, train, and bring new hires to proficiency in the sales processBe accountable for growing sales nationally, within industry/sector, or product groupOversee the development and success of a team of 4–6 Business Development ConsultantsBusiness Planning & Strategy Development:Be responsible for meeting annual business development goalsCreate sales strategies aligned to sector and geography of individual sales consultantsManage the end‐to‐end sales cycle of group insurance, retirement, administration, wellness, HR services and/or related productsDevelop strategies for new or emerging channels of growth potentialCreate a formal,
annual sales planEstablish the value proposition and understand the go‐to‐market strategies within the existing suite of products and servicesEnsure prospective client needs and requirements are fully understood and represented in the design of RFP and finalist presentationsDevelop pricing strategies and track competitive market costsIdentify the client's strategic needs, Total Rewards strategy, insurance risk philosophy, and recommend appropriate plan designPresent, coordinate, and review all proposals and finalist materialsWork in close collaboration with the National Indigenous Solutions Leadership teamSupport the lead consultant with interactions and communications with prospective clientsMaintain positive relationships with other departments and client decision makersEnsure all sales data is tracked accurately using CRMSupport on‐site presentations to clients and prospective clientsEnsure customer service commitments align with National Best PracticesProject a respectful, positive, professional image at all timesEstablish clear sales goals, targets, and budgets for Sales Consultants and ensure alignment to approved sales plansPeople Leadership & Team Development:Collect, monitor, and analyze sales performance data including pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and KPIsImplement and maintain sales processes, systems, and tools for sales planning and forecastingMonitor client, market,
and competitive trends to identify growth opportunities and risksCollaborate with service, finance, and leadership teams to ensure smooth client transitionsEnsure all customer‐facing materials meet People Corporation branding and compliance standardsPartner with Finance and Leadership on timely, accurate reportingProvide day‐to‐day people leadership including coaching and performance managementLead selection, onboarding, training, and development of sales team membersPromote a culture aligned with People Corporation values and a respectful workplaceContribute to broader regional or national sales strategy initiativesQualificationsWillingness to travel, including overnight staysLLQP required (active or reinstated within 90 days if lapsed)5–10 years of proven sales experience with demonstrated success leading or mentoring sales teamsStrong command of the full sales cycle for Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services; experience is a strong assetExperience working with Indigenous communities and organizations is a valued assetCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $120,000 – $150,000 annually. Variable compensation such as annual bonus and commission may be additional.
